This helps prevent unnecessary emergency department visits and hospitalizations for poison exposures.

Since 1972, the Minnesota Regional Poison Center has operated a 24-hour poison emergency treatment information service, providing assistance and expertise in the medical diagnosis and management of human poisonings.
